Contact #2 - Luis Valquaresma

Two smooth, pale bodies meet in mid-air against a deep blue-black ground, their limbs stretched out and crossing so it is hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. Hands and feet are tinted orange, a pale turquoise light falls from above and a small blue sphere hangs in the lower corner. The faces are left blank.

Painted in oil, the forms modelled in seamless gradients so that soft bodies meet hard edges without a visible brushstroke. From the series Soccer vs. Football. Luis Valquaresma is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Vale de Cambra in Portugal. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
