The Artist
Luminous Elegy I was lava, and learned to smile. The basalt heads laugh at the moss, and the rain whistles their names. I was iron, and rust became colour: an ember that time lit slowly. I was paint, and I danced. Bodies of orange and turquoise, a crowd laughing at itself, and in the midst, with a golden halo, someone who is playing too. I leave the blue where one floats, the lit doorway, the iron sun, the chair open to whoever arrives. If the question had no answer, it was so that we might go looking. I do not leave: I scatter. Whoever looks, stays with us. Whoever dreams, wakes inside the dream.

Small figures are spread across a thickly painted orange field: a dark red dancer with raised arms on a patch of turquoise and yellow, a green swimmer stretched out flat, standing figures in blue and green, a yellow child and a blue bird. A dark red horse trots on its own island of turquoise in the lower right. The orange is laid on in heavy strokes that cover almost the whole sheet.
Painted on canvas in heavy strokes, the figures set flat against the orange ground. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.

from 8682 reviewsAbsolutely wonderful to deal with, from buying to receiving. I highly recommend.
I was very excited to see this image as it has the same feel of an original piece of work Mariam produced a couple of years ago. Sadly I was too late to buy the original piece! The quality of this print is far superior to any other print I have purchased and look forward to finding the perfect place to display this beautiful picture in my home.
