Contact #3 - Luis Valquaresma

Two pale, smooth figures turn against a ground that shifts from electric blue to black. One leans back with an arm thrown out, the other presses forward, and a single orange hand reaches in at the lower edge. Faces and features are left out entirely, so the whole encounter is carried by the shapes of the bodies.

Painted in oil, the forms modelled in seamless gradients so that soft bodies meet hard edges without a visible brushstroke. From the series Soccer vs. Football. Luis Valquaresma is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Vale de Cambra in Portugal. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
