The Midnight Queen - Bent Hardervig

A figure with bare shoulders sits against a dark, grainy ground, wearing a crown that catches the little light there is. A red and white striped lollipop is held at the mouth, the one sharp note of colour in the picture. Everything else is held in black, grey and dusty white.

Worked up from a photograph with the grain left coarse and the contrast pushed, so the figure half dissolves into the dark ground. Bent Hardervig is a well-known Danish graphic artist and author, with a long list of art prints and books behind him. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
