Traces - Lone Gjessing

Seen from high above, ploughed fields run across the ground in long parallel curves, dark and pale by turns where the furrows catch the light. The lines bend around one another in wide arcs down the left side, and straighter tracks cut in from the right. There is no horizon and no sky, only the worked surface of the land.

Photographed from the air and printed in black and white, so the cultivated lines read as drawing rather than landscape. Lone Gjessing is a Danish photographer and artist who also works with jewellery making and crafts. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
