African fish market - Gloria Mwivanda

Seen straight down from above, a fish market spreads across white tarpaulins laid over the ground. Small silver fish are heaped in dark round piles and raked out to dry, with woven baskets, bulging white sacks and plastic buckets in blue, green, red and yellow set between them. Crowds move through the gaps in printed cloth, bright shirts and headscarves, their shadows thrown long across the sheets.

Photographed from directly overhead in hard daylight, so the scene reads as pattern before it reads as a street. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
